Baylor University’s Diana R. Garland School of Social Work offers City Year AmeriCorps members, alums and staff
15% tuition discount AND minimum $3000 scholarship
Up to four eligible City Year applicants will receive 15% tuition remission as well as a minimum $3000 scholarship, and one eligible City Year applicant will receive a guaranteed graduate assistantship towards qualifying social work programs.
To qualify for the awards, students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester. The scholarship may be renewed in subsequent years provided recipients maintain continuous full-time registration and remain in good academic standing according to Baylor Social Work standards.
Scholarships are awarded to City Year AmeriCorps members and alums who complete at least one term of service and City Year staff employed for at least two years.
This benefit is available to applicants who apply by March 1.

- Enrollment deferral: Admitted students will be permitted to defer enrollment by one year if they decide to serve additional time with City Year before starting their studies.

To get the application fee waived and be considered for the scholarship, a service verification letter must be requested by emailing alumni@cityyear.org with “Baylor Social Work: City Year verification letter request” in the subject line. Within the email, include the site where you served and dates of service. This letter will be sent directly to the School of Social Work’s admissions office and added to your applicant file.
