$30,000 Scholarship:
The University of Southern California Rossier School of Education considers City Year AmeriCorps members, alumni, and staff for a merit-based tuition scholarship starting at $30,000, disbursed evenly over three semesters. Applications are accepted for the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program beginning with the summer 2025 cohort.

To access the application fee waiver
To access the application fee waiver:
- Submit a service verification letter by emailing alumni@cityyear.org with “USC Rossier School of Education: City Year verification letter request” in the subject line. Within the email, include the site where you served and dates of service. This letter will be sent back to you, which you will then submit directly to Rossier (see below).
- Start your online application and select the program to which you are planning to apply
- On the online application, under the “Questions” section, select “**I am a City Year AmeriCorps member, alum, or staff”.
- Using the same email address as the one used on your application, send an e-mail to rsoeadm@rossier.usc.edu. The subject line should say “City Year/AmeriCorps Fee Wavier Request Summer 2025”. The body of your e-mail should include the following:
- Full name
- The name of the program to which you are applying
- Attach your service verification letter
- You will receive an email if and when your fee waiver is approved with further instructions. Please do not submit your online application until your fee waiver has been approved. No refunds will be issued post-submission.
All applicants will automatically be considered for the scholarship when reviewed for admission.
