Milwaukee has a lot of young professional residential areas with great restaurants and local shops.
There are 100 highly-skilled AmeriCorps members working in 13 schools throughout Milwaukee.
Our team partners with educators while supporting, mentoring and lifting up our students so that they are able to fully take advantage of their drive and skillsets.

AmeriCorps members each pay between $350-$550/month for rent and get a free public transportation bus pass (Milwaukee County Transit System) making Milwaukee an affordable option.

Today, our staff honored our current Second Year AmeriCorps Members and Team Leaders, and the Team Leaders honored the future Returning AmeriCorps Members in our Passing the Torch Ceremony.

Huge shoutout to our Institute Committee at CYMKE! They put on thoughtful, fun, and engaging programming for our team leaders and staff today.
We love institutes to better connect and understand one another - and today was just that!

Global Youth Service Day brings together thousands of individuals every April to make a difference in their communities through physical service. City Year uses this opportunity to complete a small service project at each of our partner schools, involving our scholars in both planning and execution.
Today we want to start off by highlighting 3 of our schools: Mitchell, Clarke, and JMAC. Mitchell completed a neighborhood cleanup and built community with friendship bracelets. Clarke painted a beautiful set of murals, including one featuring student handprints. And JMAC decorated pots and planted flowers to brighten up the school courtyard!
