Steve Birchard is a senior Principal in Deloitte Consulting’s Strategy & Analytics practice in Chicago. Mr. Birchard has over 30 years of experience in corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, and provider delivery system integration. He has assisted numerous client organizations in defining their strategic planning initiatives, redesigning their business operating model, evaluating customer segments and product lines, and transforming their technology systems.
Mr. Birchard leads Deloitte’s health care strategy practice. He is responsible for building a national client portfolio focused on strategy formulation, large-scale transformation, and emerging technology adoption.
Mr. Birchard also leads the firm’s Central Region Health Care practice. He is responsible for growing market share and building sustainable client relationships throughout the central region.
Mr. Birchard has served on the City Year National Board since 2020. He chairs the Audit & Risk Committee and serves on the Finance Committee. He is a member of the Executive Committee.
Steve is a graduate of the University of Iowa, and is actively involved with the Health Administration program in the School of Public Health. He recently served as the Chair of the alumni board.
Steve lives in Chicago with his wife and three children.
