City Year is proud to partner with Johns Hopkins University’s Carey Business School, a premier humanistic learning community with the goal of developing global business leaders and transforming organizations, communities and society through discovery, education, entrepreneurship and engagement, offering 25% annual tuition scholarships.

Johns Hopkins University’s Carey Business School offers City Year AmeriCorps members, alums and staff

25% scholarships

The scholarship award will be equal to 25% of tuition for up to three City Year applicants per year for the full-time Master of Business Administration program. The scholarship is renewable for a maximum of two years, provided recipients maintain satisfactory performance in the first year.

Scholarships are awarded to City Year AmeriCorps members and alums who complete at least one term of service and City Year staff employed for at least two years.

Applicants may be considered for additional merit-based awards depending on the strength of their application.

  • Enrollment deferral: a one-year deferral for admitted City Year applicants who decide to serve additional time with City Year before starting with Johns Hopkins University.

To access the application fee waiver and apply for the scholarship

To get the application fee waived and be considered for the scholarship, a service verification letter must be requested by emailing alumni@cityyear.org with “Johns Hopkins Carey Business School: City Year verification letter request” in the subject line. Within the email, include the site where you served and your AmeriCorps graduation month and year. This letter will be sent electronically by City Year to the admissions office and added to your applicant file.
