Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology offers City Year AmeriCorps members, alums and staff

10% scholarship

The City Year Partnership Scholarship awards 10% tuition scholarship to all admitted City Year applicants each year towards a qualifying graduate program and is renewable for up to one year.

Scholarships are generally awarded at the start of the academic year, and students must be enrolled full time (six units each term) to remain eligible.

The scholarship will be awarded to all admitted City Year AmeriCorps members or alums who completed at least one term of service or a City Year staff member employed for at least two years.

This scholarship represents the minimum award; applicants will be considered for private scholarships based on donor criteria.

Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology is dedicated to training skilled leaders, administrators and practitioners of the highest level within two allied fields of human care: education and psychology. The Graduate School of Education and Psychology also seeks to prepare educational and mental health professionals with hands-on experience, mentorship and a community of resources.

Through its integrative coursework and practical training, the Graduate School of Education and Psychology prepares students to serve the needs of others through skilled leadership. It offers seven master’s and five doctoral programs across its four graduate campus locations throughout Southern California and online. Programs are fully accredited by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges or the American Psychological Association.

To access the application fee waiver and apply for the scholarship

To get the application fee waived and be considered for the scholarship, a service verification letter must be requested by emailing alumni@cityyear.org with “Pepperdine GSEP” in the subject line. Within the email, include the site where you served and your AmeriCorps graduation month and year. This letter will be sent electronically by City Year to the admissions office and added to your applicant file.
