City Year Greater Boston’s MLK Week of Service

Join City Year Greater Boston for a week of service and learning to honor Dr. King’s legacy.

This year, we are expanding our MLK Day of Service to a full MLK Week of Service! Join us for activities between Saturday, 1/18/25 – Thursday, 1/23/25 to honor Dr. Martin Luther King’s Jr. legacy and support our work in school with students.

We will have three activities that are open to the public:

Saturday, 1/18 – Monday, 1/20: Create & Donate

Registrants for this activity will organize their own service on their own time with instructions provided ahead of time by City Year. We encourage folks to get together with friends and family to do service as it works for them, and/or organize supply drives in their community to support our students. Instructions will be provided after registration. Registration is free, but participants will be expected to provide their own materials and arrange drop off at City Year after.

Wednesday, 1/22: Brews & Bulletin Boards

5-8 PM at The Point Boston (147 Hanover St., Boston, MA 02108)

Hosted by our Seven Generations Board, join us to mingle, enjoy snacks and libations, and create bulletin boards for local schools. Learn more about how to get involved with City Year and continue your support. Tickets are $25 and include service project materials, a drink ticket, and appetizers.

Thursday, 1/23: Pack-a-Palooza

Three shifts available at City Year (287 Columbus Ave., Boston, MA 02116)

Join us at City Year Headquarters to support students and teachers by packing supply kits! We will have three 2-hour shifts available: 9-11 AM, 12-2 PM, and 3-5 PM. Tickets are $50 and include service project materials and coordination with schools for delivery.
