For over 80 years, Easter Seals Massachusetts has been providing services to ensure that children and adults with disabilities have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play!

We are currently seeking a Full Time College Navigator in the Northeast region of Massachusetts to join our dynamic group of dedicated employees!

Our Easterseals College Navigator program provides individualized services to college students with disabilities based on their goals, strengths, and needs.

Our Navigators assist students in identifying barriers, advocating for the student’s needs, and accessing
college services and resources to successfully reach graduation. Services are delivered in person, virtually, or blended to meet the student’s needs.

The program offers a range of services, including connecting students to on and off-campus resources,
supporting students to develop self-advocacy and communication skills, helping students to develop time-management, and planning skills, assisting students with accessing online databases such as Blackboard and Moodle, help students with obtaining appropriate accommodations.

The support provided by the Easterseals College Navigator Program is critical in helping students with disabilities achieve their academic and career goals!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-campus and virtual support to college students with disabilities as they adjust to academics without IEP accommodations and navigate campus living
  • This position requires on-site availability to specific colleges
  • Develop action plans each semester that addresses each student’s goals as they relate to their transition into college
  • Provide 1:1 coaching to develop and support concrete goals in areas of higher education and independent living to meet each student’s unique needs and encourage independence in all phases of the student’s program
  • Support students with executive functioning skills such as time management, organization, scheduling, etc.
  • Help identify potential barriers and problem-solve around them with students and college staff
  • Create a supportive environment between the college and the student
  • Advocate with the student on identifying their needs and being able to explain them to college staff
  • Maintain ongoing documentation and communication related to monitoring and evaluating client progress on goals
  • Help students understand the current college culture and expectations

Minimum qualifications include:

  • BS or MS Degree in related field
  • Working knowledge with Blackboard, Moodle or Canvas online learning platform
  • Working knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Reliable daily transportation and ability to be on-campus Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00pm
  • Fully COVID vaccinated or willing to become vaccinated, in accordance with campus requirements

Starting salary is $24.00 per hour with a BS Degree, and $27 per hour with a MS Degree.
