Cooking Up Your Own Special Spice For Success
Entering our third week from our Community Champion Speaker Series of City Year Miami, our AmeriCorps Members were reenergized to continue to make better happen. This was thanks to the positive spirit of Kristin Mestre, Director, Global Customer Marketing, and Reference for SAP. She is also a Member of the Board of Directors for The WOW Center Miami, firmly believing in her intrinsic motivation in helping all communities.
Take chances, make mistakes, get messy, and learn to be uncomfortable in order to grow. These are lessons that have helped Kristin through her education and professional journey. Our AmeriCorps Members were fired up to learn more of this special spice recipe.
Sharing the spirit of dedication and hard work that furthered her time as an athlete-student, Kristin realized that her path was not to play softball but communications. Having dedicated so much time to the sport, she was grateful for the experiences that it provided her, including scholarship opportunities. Ready to take a swing at her next step, Kristin embarked on a path of self-discovery and hard work that allowed her to study abroad and connect her dynamic spirit to the world.
Kristin has been able to build her confidence through these opportunities of ruffling her feathers and always raising her hand to volunteer for projects that were outside of her comfort zone to demonstrate her willingness and desire to grow. Her passion and purpose have connected her to build a board of mentors and a network that spans across the globe. With all this positive energy, our AmeriCorps Members are more than ready to continue with their service and adding 12 new ingredients to help them along the way.
