The City Year Philadelphia Board is a passionate, diverse group of local business, community, and civic leaders who are dedicated to our mission to advance educational equity and prepare AmeriCorps members as the next generation of leaders. Board members serve as advocates and champions for City Year and help secure resources to support our work.

Deborah Kuhn (Board Chair / Nominating and Governance Vice Chair)
Retired

After a career in the banking and mutual funds industries, Deborah Kuhn migrated to the nonprofit sector as Director of Government and External Affairs for the Greater Philadelphia YMCA. Now retired, she is on the Nominating/Governance and Development Committees at City Year Philadelphia. She is the proud parent of a former City Year AmeriCorps member.

Dinesh Indala (Vice Chair)
Executive Vice President of Housing Operations Philadelphia Housing Authority

Dinesh Indala is Executive Vice President of Housing Operations. He directs and oversees all property management and maintenance activities for 14,000 properties for PHA’s public housing portfolio, serving over 40,000 Low Income residents. He oversees over 800 employees at housing developments throughout the city. Dinesh has been at the Housing Authority for more than 16 years during which time he held various positions, including Director of Quality Assurance and Executive GM for Property Maintenance.

Dinesh earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from DEI University in Agra, India and an M.S. in Industrial Engineering/Quality & Reliability from Rutgers University. He is also Lean/6 Sigma certified by Villanova University.

Dinesh was named to “Who’s Next in Real Estate and Housing: 18 Young Stars Helping Build Philadelphia” in Billy Penn, September 2018, and to “4 Public Housing Directors You Should Know About” by Housing Futures, January 2018.

Dinesh also serves on the Board of MANNA and Beyond Literacy.

Dr. Deleah Archer
Founder and Chief Executive Officer Education Services for All, LLC

Deleah Archer has 20 years experience in public education and higher education, in the areas of special education, at-risk youth interventions, and diversity, equity and inclusion. As a native Philadelphian, she served a year as an AmeriCorps VISTA. Her appointment to City Year completes a full circle of activism in working for the greater good.

Raquel Arredondo
Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education

Raquel M. Arredondo is the inaugural Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. In this role, Raquel drives School-wide DEI initiatives and strategies in order to promote an inclusive learning and workplace environment. Previously, Raquel has worked at institutions such as Penn State University, Rutgers University and most recently Drexel University, delivering educational, professional, and diversity programming and initiatives. Raquel has been recognized by the Association of Latino Professionals-Prospanica with the 2018 Brillante Award, and in 2017 AL DIA News Media recognized her as a Woman at the Top.

Raquel is a first generation Cuban-American whose educational background includes a BA in Psychology from George Mason University, an MA in Higher Education from Rowan University, and multiple certifications in Human Resources and Diversity & Inclusion. Originally from the Bronx, NY, Raquel lives in South Jersey with her husband and two sons.

Ann Marie Bell (Corps Support Chair)
Chief of Staff and Director of Engagement / Managing Director Glenmede

Ann Marie Bell is the member of Glenmede’s senior leadership team responsible for stakeholder engagement. In this capacity she leads the firm’s Human Resources, Marketing, and Community Relations efforts, as well as the Office of the Corporate Secretary. Prior to her current role she held leadership positions in Human Resources at Cigna, Marsh, and DuPont.

Ann Marie earned a Bachelor of Arts from Purdue University and a Master of Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.

Alisha Bell-Campbell (Nominating and Governance Chair)
Assistant Vice President, Diversity Recruiting Lincoln Financial Group

Alisha Bell-Campbell is Assistant Vice President of Diversity Recruiting at Lincoln Financial Group. She is responsible for strategic partnerships and is the relationship manager with professional diversity organizations, universities, as well other diversity focused networks.

Alisha has more than 10 years of experience in Recruiting for various industries such as non-profits, healthcare services, and financial services. Alisha is also an active member with her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. where she fulfills her passion for mentoring youth and being active in the community.

Alisha received her Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media Arts from Clark Atlanta University.

Malik Brown
President and CEO Graduate Philadelphia, Inc.

Malik Brown is a seasoned leader with a unique portfolio of cross-sector experiences. His work and impact span multiple industry sectors, including business, philanthropy, and higher education. In his current role as president and CEO of Graduate Philadelphia, Inc. Malik is responsible for advancing the mission of adult degree completion, workforce readiness, and inclusive economic development.

Malik is a passionate advocate and champion of social and economic mobility for non-traditional adult learners. To make a difference and give voice to important regional issues, Malik also serves on several nonprofit boards, including the Economy League of Greater Philadelphia, Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC), ACHIEVEability, and Neumann University.

Malik attended Clark University in Worcester, MA where he earned his BA and MBA. Malik has been married to his wife Ayana for 15 years and has two little girls (Aleena and Myka). He resides in the West Oak Lane section of the city. Above all else, Malik is most proud of his relationship with his two daughters.

Jordan Feld (Development Chair)

Jordan Feld is Chief Commercial Officer and Co-Founder of Togo Logistics, a commercial transport organization specializing in supply chain optimization and sensitive commodity management. He earned a BS in Marketing from La Salle University and is also a Board Member of the South Camden Theatre Company.

Arlin Green is founding partner at Centura Capital, a private equity commercial real estate investment firm, where he oversees all legal documentation, deal sourcing, hiring, fundraising, and administration. He earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a JD from Boston University School of Law.

Wendy Green-Harvey
Manager, Community and Local Affairs SEPTA

Wendy Green-Harvey is a Manager of Local and Community Affairs at Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA). She has spent over 18 years there building relationships with community groups, elected officials, residents and businesses around issues related to public transit. She is a graduate of Hampton University and the University of Maryland-College Park.

Dr. Linda Grobman
Associate Professor Temple University, School Leadership Program

Linda Grobman, Ed.D., is the very proud product of the School District of Philadelphia. She is an accomplished senior level education professional with a proven record of success leading urban, suburban, and private school districts. Currently, she serves as an associate professor at Temple University in the School Leadership program. Additionally she serves as Temple’s liaison to the School District of Philadelphia in the Pathways to Leadership program and is a key mentor to the PTL students.

Dr. Grobman earned her undergraduate degree and principal certification at Penn State University, a Master’s degree and Superintendent Letter of Eligibility from Arcadia University and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania.

Kerry Halpern

Kerry Halpern is a partner at Polsinelli, an international law firm, with 20 years of experience in the areas of executive compensation and benefits and environmental, social and governance (ESG). She has a BA from Wesleyan University and a JD from Georgetown University Law Center.

Keola Harrington (Corps Support Vice Chair)

As Chief Financial Officer, Keola leads, directs, and oversees all financial operations at the Philadelphia Parking Authority, including finance, accounting, revenue, payroll, procurement, and risk management, ensuring fiscal integrity and strategic financial planning. With over 15 years of experience, Keola brings a proven track record of driving financial success and achieving revenue goals in corporate, non-profit, and large municipal settings.

Keola is a proud City Year Philadelphia alumna and first-generation college graduate with a BS in Finance from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an Executive MPA from the University of Pennsylvania. She is deeply committed to public service, education, and economic empowerment, serving on the boards of Community College of Philadelphia, City Year Philadelphia, Schuylkill River Development Corporation, and the Community of Compassion CDC.

Carolyn Hewson
Senior Director, Strategic Initiatives Penn Medicine

Carolyn is a Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives for Penn Medicine focusing on strategic planning, change management and team effectiveness. She brings 20 years of experience in organizational development for health care and non-profit organizations, as well as creating economic development strategies for distressed communities. Carolyn has also volunteered with organizations that mentor and deliver educational support for at-risk children.

Marge Jackson
Senior Vice President - Head of Sales Comcast

Marge Jackson is the Head of Sales at Comcast, a Fortune 30 company with $100 billion in revenue, with over 20 years’ experience in telecommunications. At Comcast, she’s held multiple positions in Sales, Marketing and Customer Service. She is responsible for setting the strategic vision to deliver a superior customer sales experience through people, processes, tools, and technology.

She is a graduate of Peirce College, the Comcast Woman Leadership program at Wharton University, and CTAM Executive Program at Harvard University. She’s received multiple awards including CableFax “Most Powerful Women in Cable” list.

Tzarni Mangosong

Tzarni is a consulting professional focused on helping Fortune 500 companies and federal, state, and local government agencies in their growth strategies, operational efficiencies, and technology modernization. He has deep background and experience serving organizations in the consumer, retail, hospitality, services, health care, manufacturing, high technology industries. Tzarni and his wife Leah and daughter Mia love to travel and very passionate about learning diverse cultures and food. Tzarni spend his time entertaining friends and family through his cooking. Tzarni splits his time between his home in Allentown and his place in Fishtown.

Precious’ passion for building strong relationships, advocating for the needs of students, and producing excellent outcomes is the driving force behind her work and commitment to make an indelible impact on the lives of students in the Philadelphia region.

Dr. Christine Piven (Finance Vice Chair)
Chief of Prevention/Executive Director of Adult Education City of Philadelphia

Christine Piven, Ph.D. is the Chief of Prevention/Executive Director of Adult Education for the City of Philadelphia. Over 16 years and across several roles with the City, she has been asked to re-imagine (or create) public-facing initiatives including launching Philadelphia's first grants office; creating a national model for President Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper effort; developing a new city-wide after-school initiative; supporting the reorganization of two signature mayoral initiatives (Community Schools and PHLPre-K); rebuilding the adult education system in Philadelphia; and most recently focusing on prevention services for the City.

Damon Rankin (Associate Board Liaison / Finance Chair)

Damon Rankin is Chief Financial Officer at Berkadia. In this role he supports the firm’s finance strategy, including assessment of M&A / partnership opportunities, benchmarking, and risk management. Mr. Rankin previously worked in Underwriting where he led that team’s efforts to drive process improvement, measure performance, and improve staff utilization.

Prior to joining Berkadia, Mr. Rankin worked at Deloitte Consulting in the Strategy & Operations practice. At Deloitte, he developed and implemented cost reduction strategies for Fortune 50 life sciences companies. Mr. Rankin started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers' external audit practice where he covered consumer products and utility clients.

Mr. Rankin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Drexel University where he graduated magna cum laude and also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Jameel Rush, PHR, SHRM-CP
Director of Inclusion Programs Google

Jameel is the Director of Inclusion Programs for Google. In his role, he leads the organization that supports Google's employee resource groups, executive councils, and diversity programs for over 50,000 Googlers across 70 countries.

Prior to his role with Google, Jameel held roles leading diversity, equity, and inclusion for Aramark and The Philadelphia Inquirer. He has over 15 years of global talent management and human resources experience having worked in leadership development, organizational development, HR Business Partner, and talent management roles across several public and private organizations.

Maureen Sparks (Government Relations Vice Chair)
Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel Firstrust Bank

Maureen Sparks is Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Firstrust Bank. In this capacity Maureen is responsible for overseeing, planning, and organizing the legal staff and legal work of the institution and providing legal advice and counsel to the institution’s management and leadership. Maureen earned a BBA in Finance from Temple University and a JD from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law.

Maggy Wilkinson (Development Vice Chair)

Maggy Wilkinson is the Chief Executive Officer of Athena Global Advisors, a Philadelphia-based marketing consultancy that delivers business insights, marketing strategies, and brand activations. Founded in 2013 by Wilkinson, Athena services an expansive portfolio of clients in media, telecommunications, professional sports, fashion, healthcare, and hospitality. Notable clients and projects include Comcast, the NFL's "Huddle for 100" campaign, and the City of Philadelphia's "Ready.Set.Philly!" pandemic recovery initiative.

Wilkinson founded Athena with a mission to be a force for positive change, and has long believed in giving back to the community. Athena and its employees have supported a variety of philanthropic causes, including Castleman’s Foundation, Commonwealth Youth Choir, MANNA, Mazzoni Center, National Adoption Center, National Domestic Workers Alliance, PAWS, Philabundance, Project HOME, and Vetri Community Partnership.

Wilkinson excels at business operations, community engagement programs, telecommunications projects, human capital initiatives, and talent acquisition. After college, she taught Latin and Ancient Greek in New York City before beginning a corporate career in equity research at Merrill Lynch followed by positions at Bankers Trust, Frontier Airlines, McDATA Corporation, TeleTech, Optia Group, and Forensic Risk Alliance, where she served as Chief Operating Officer during a period of explosive growth.
