Q4 Partnership Highlights

Q4 Partnership Highlight

The end of our 2020 service year presented us with unimaginable challenges, from a global pandemic to historic civil unrestThrough it all, our corporate and community partners were still able to donate their time, resources, and much more to show their alignment with our mission, now more than ever, to provide equitable educational access to all students. Each quarter, City Year Philly (CYP) highlights the recent work that our partners have done in support of our mission. Below is our fourth quarter roundup.

State of the Site Town Hall – On June 3, City Year Philadelphia held a town hall style meeting for Team & Program Sponsors, Red Jacket Society members, and our Site, Alumni, and Associate Boards to hear about the state of City Year from CEO Jim Balfanz. Darryl Bundrige, Vice President and Executive Director of CYP, and Cameryn Dews, a 2019-2020 CYP AmeriCorps member, spoke on how our service has transitioned during the pandemic and how they foresee service moving forward in the 2020-2021 school year. Missed the State of the Site Town Hall? Watch it here.

AmeriCorps Member Appreciations

  • Maureen Sparks, Senior Associate Counsel, Firstrust Bank, joined the Olney team via Zoom on May 27 to thank the team for their service and learn about their Leadership After City Year (LACY) plans.
  • Nolan Tully, Partner, Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath, joined the Marshall team via Zoom on June 8 to thank the team for their service.

There were many partner engagement opportunities planned and scheduled to end our service year off in a strong fashion. However, due to the many unforeseen circumstances, the hopes and plans for the fourth quarter of our service year were preventedWe still want to say thank you to all our corporate and community sponsors contributing to the success of the 2019-2020 service year. Without the help of our entire City Year Philadelphia community, our success to finish the year strong would not have been possible!
