University of Redlands offers City Year AmeriCorps members, alums and staff
20% scholarships
The City Year Scholarship is valued at 20% of tuition for qualified City Year AmeriCorps members towards full-time study in any degree program at the University of Redlands.
Scholarships are renewable for the duration of the program for either first-time freshman, transfer, or graduate students. All applicants are evaluated for all available scholarships and tuition discounts and may be offered a package that exceeds a 20% discount. In such cases, the single highest discount prevails.
Scholarships are awarded to City Year AmeriCorps members and alums who complete at least one term of service and City Year staff employed for at least two years.
Additional benefits
- Redlands will waive the application fee for prospective students who apply online.
- Enrollment deferral: A one-year deferral is available for accepted students who decide to serve additional time with City Year before starting their studies.

To identify your City Year affiliation
City Year applicants to Redlands must identify themselves to their assigned enrollment counselor.
To apply for the scholarship
To be considered for the scholarship, list your City Year affiliation on your application. If you do not do so, you may not be flagged for the scholarship and a service verification letter may be required. If so, you can request that by emailing alumni@cityyear.org with “University of Redlands: City Year verification letter request” in the subject line. Within the email, include the site where you served and your AmeriCorps graduation month and year. This letter will be sent electronically by City Year to the applicant and the applicant should submit the letter to the University.
